A first-time founder started with one sample, then 300 pcs per color. No inventory gamble, no factory minimum lottery.
01 — The Challenge: Small Budget, No Room to Guess
The client was a first-time founder, building a high-waist biker shorts line on a small budget. Two things scared them off most factories: minimum orders that forced them to gamble a season's cash on inventory they weren't sure would sell, and quotes that looked cheap until hidden costs appeared at sampling, at color, at logo.
They did not need a factory that could do everything. They needed a way to test the market without betting the company on it.
02 — What We Did: One Sample First, Then a Real 300-Piece Order
We set up the project in two stages, each one optional.
Stage one — one piece, stock color. A single sample of the style in a stock colorway, at standard sample cost, no development fee. They wore it, measured it, photographed it, showed it around. If the style failed the market test, the total loss was one sample.
Stage two — the first order, at a number that makes sense. When they came back, the first bulk order ran at 300 pcs per color — our per-style, per-color MOQ, no tier above it required. Because the fabric came from our library and the pattern was already proven from sampling, there was no re-engineering and no surprise tooling fee. Color was chosen from stock to keep the entry even lower.
03 — The Outcome: Sold Out, Then a Smarter Reorder

The first order delivered on schedule, passed final inspection at AQL 2.5, and the founder moved the stock within the season. The reorder added two new colorways on the same style code — same pattern, same fabric, zero new development rounds. The gamble they were afraid of never happened, because the first step was small enough to survive being wrong.
04 — Why This Case Is on Our Website
Because "small MOQ" is usually marketing talk, and we wanted ours to be a number you can hold us to. 300 pcs per color is the actual figure on our orders, with library fabrics and proven patterns to keep the entry cost real.
A small first order is not a favor. It is the way both sides learn whether the partnership works — and we are happy to start that way.
